GreaterAntillesMap? – a GIS database for the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, available in MapInfo or ArcGIS format.

GreaterAntillesMap is a GIS database that assembles and displays information pertaining to mineral exploration in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

GreaterAntillesMap modules, designed to be used together, include Geography, Geology, TS Units, Prospects, Radiometric Dates, and Land Status.

For a detailed description of the database and for pricing information click on: Greater Antilles Readme or contact RdC.

For a closer view, use your cursor to hover over the map.

The Geography module provides shaded relief, bathymetry, digital elevation models (DEM), major infrastructure and a topographic map index.

The Geology module provides up-to-date geology in vector format and includes the Geography module.

The TS Units module, which includes Topography and Geology, provides a tectono-stratigraphic interpretation of the geologic map based on published references.

The Prospects module, which includes Topography and Geology and TS Units, assembles pertinent information for individual mineral occurrences and plots those occurrences on a mosaic of country-scale geologic base maps and on a map of tectono-stratigraphic rock units.

The Land Status module assembles information on mineral concessions and concession applications along with the location of national parks, forest reserves, indian reservations, national monuments, and other areas of restricted mineral entry.

Plots provides up-to-date metallogenic and land status maps as high resolution tiff images.

The Prospects module can be used to:

        • Review resource and production information for individual mineral occurrences.
        • Find references to the literature for more information on specific properties.
        • Review the terms of previous transactions.
        • See if a property has been drill tested and what the principal results were.
        • Answer specific queries, for example “Locate and identify all deposits with over 500,000 ounces gold.”
        • Select properties for evaluation and acquisition.
        • Design and carry out exploration programs with a focus on particular tectono-stratigraphic units.
        • Click on Prospect DEMO to see how the Prospects module works.

        Greater Antilles Map Land Status:
